Machu
Picchu was but the center of an extensive Inca province. Hiking
the Inca trail is the best way to appreciate that Machu Picchu is
only a small piece of the history of the Inca community that thrived
here.
Via the Inca
trail you will see many well preserved archaeological sites, linked
by stone trails, as well as a variety of ecological zones containing
habitats for many rare plants and animals. The mountainous scenery
is breathtaking.

We have scheduled
departures every Monday. We can also book private groups for departures
any day of the week. The hike is at an easy pace, with time to stop
and explore. Nevertheless, the high altitude is taxing for many
people, so we recommend a one or two day itinerary in Cusco before
starting the Inca Trail trek.

For strong hikers
who are looking for something more challenging than the Inca trail
and off the beaten tourist track, we can arrange a private guide
for a 7-8 day guided hike from Mollepata to Machu Picchu via Salkantay
Mountain.
